Gilly Angel: yes , I do the draw for GCBRA. Something as simple as a little box that we can check that says “paid” next to each rider name would be sufficient.

Brittany Marr: What problems are accruing from not having this? How does not having an ability to mark paid cause problems? What's the actual pain you are experiencing?

Gilly Angel: since we take text pre entries, everyone goes in the draw. We have a rule to be paid up 1 hour or 50 runners before you run. So when it’s time to start dropping people out of the draw that have not paid up we have to go pull the papers that they turn in when they enter/pay and compare the papers to the computer before we can delete anyone out of the draw. No paper = not paid so they get dropped.

Brittany Marr: Are y'all aware that the app can take payments? If you made riders pay through the app that would completely eliminate this problem. let me know. I can show y'all how it works if y'all weren't aware.

Gilly Angel: yes and that would make life easier but for some reason we can’t do that. I don’t remember the exact reason. But it’s been discussed and decided it was a no go ☹️

Brittany Marr: Can you get the answer? What ever it is, that's the real problem. That's what we need to solve. I might already have a solution, but need to know.

Brittany Marr: Were you able to find out why on this?

Gilly Angel: Hey Gilly, I'm going to chime in here based on my needs since I'd like to see the same feature. Maybe it matches Brittany's need as well. Producers want to give users the ability to sign up online (that's awesome) but don't want to nickel and dime their supporters with fees. I understand and appreciate that how stripe makes their money, but as a producer, I'd like to give the rider the option to pay online (and accept the fees if they want) or pay cash when they arrive (to keep their costs down). With cash on arrival, it would be great to have a tick box to verify rider has paid (even better if draw was based on that tick box and automatically removes them from draw if unchecked-i understand this is additional programming logic). Right now, though, a simple "paid" check box visible to the producer on the draw screen would be very useful for those of us who would like to allow online pre-entries while still taking cash on arrival. Fees can really start to add up on riders with multiple horses and I've seen people skip races they would have otherwise gone to because of this.

Greg Hinson: thank you for the feedback. What if you printed the daw and highlighted those who have walked up and paid? if they don't pay you delete them from the draw? Let me know your thoughts.

Gilly Angel: That's a decent work around and will likely be what we will have to do. Still not as useful as seeing it on the draw screen because now we're introducing hard copies and having to work outside the race software to keep track of something that, in my opinion, the software should be able to track.

Greg Hinson: that is what I would do print that sheet for now.

Gilly Angel: Maybe in the future a 'check' box feature could be on the producer side? Maybe not the actual app side? Just a thought.
